Over the last few months, Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin has made no secret of his intentions. He plans to aggressively move the new Fanatics sports betting platform into a leadership role within the U.S. sports betting community. Those intentions were made very clear earlier this year when the company purchased all of the U.S. assets belonging to the Australia-based PointsBet.
The goal, for now, is to beta test the new Fanatics sports betting platform in the state of Massachusetts. The operator received a license to do just that when the Massachusetts Gaming Commission gave the company the green light to start accepting mobile sports bets on May 17. With the issuance of this new license, Fanatics Sportsbook becomes the state's 8th licensed sports betting platform. Fanatics joins the like of other top U.S. operators like Fanduel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Betr, Barstool Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, and WynnBET.
As motivation for Massachusetts sports bettors to give the new Fanatics Sportsbook app a try, the company is offering a welcome bonus of $200. To get access to that bonus, new customers will only need to complete the operator's registration process and place an initial sports bet of $5.
The beta launch is expected to run for just a few days. If everything goes as planned, the company is expected to go into a full launch by the end of the month.
With the purchase of PointsBet's assets for $150 million, Fanatics now has a sports betting presence in 12 states. That includes high sports-betting revenue states like New York, New Jersey, Michigan, and Indiana. That has created a lot of goodwill, which is exactly why the PointsBet brand will be maintained in currently occupied states.
It's noteworthy that the Fanatics sportsbook brand is already licensed and taking bets in Ohio and Tennessee with an eye on launching in other states by the end of the year.
It's a little-known fact that Caesars Digital launched the rebranded Tropicana Online Casino in Pennsylvania in April 2023. With two online casino sites now available to PA residents, Caesars has followed up with news that the company has signed a long-awaited content deal with Evolution Gaming.
Evolution Gaming stands as the world's premiere live casino software developer. The company's live casino/live dealers games are available through online casinos in operation all over the world. With the introduction of live casino games in PA, Pennsylvania online casino enthusiasts will now have access to live dealer casino games like blackjack (multiple variations), roulette (multiple variations), baccarat, craps, and Ultimate Texas Hold'em.
In a press release, Matthew Sunderland, senior vice president of iGaming at Caesars Digital stated:
“Our partnership with Evolution brings additional cutting-edge games to our platforms that we’re confident our Pennsylvania customers will enjoy. Their extensive array of live dealer and First Person offerings are at the forefront of the industry, giving our customers the opportunity to experience a live casino from the comfort of their home.”
