Last Chance Remaining in BetMGM Summer of Soccer Sweepstakes

With the NBA and NHL seasons officially closed, U.S. sports betting operators are scrambling to get their customers involved in betting on other sports. While MLB is the logical support, there is some support for international soccer. With that in mind, BetMGM has been running a promo called "Summer of Soccer Sweepstakes." With only one week remaining in this promotion, now is the time to review the following terms and conditions.

While the BetMGM Summer of Soccer Sweepstakes was scheduled to run for three (3) weeks during June, there is only one week remaining in the promotion. That week is scheduled to run from June 23, 2024, until June 26, 2024, at midnight. This promo is available in all states where BetMGM is licensed to accept sports bets.

If a BetMGM customer wishes to participate in this promo, they must first go through the opt-in process. After completing that requirement, they can start earning entries in the sweepstakes drawing. Each customer will get one (1) entry for every wager of at least $25 that they make on a Copa America or Euros 3-way money line wager. The minimum odds requirement for these wagers has been set at -200. Each customer can earn up to 12 entries during the promo period. One additional entry can be claimed via email with no wager required.

The sweepstakes drawing is scheduled to be held on June 27, 2024. One winner will be announced. That winner will receive $20,000 in withdrawable cash. That means their winnings will be made available without any type of wagering requirement attached.

The winner will receive an IRS form W-2G from BetMGM because the $20k exceeds the IRS's reporting threshold. Using the form W-2G, the winner will be required to claim their winnings on their 2024 tax returns. Note: The IRS does permit taxpayers to offset gambling winnings with losses, not to exceed the winnings for the year.

The offer is available to existing BetMGM customers and new customers after they have completed the registration process. To complete that process, a new customer has to be of age (at least 21 years old) in their respective states. They must also be physically located in their respective states during the registration process and when placing wagers.

Note: BetMGM is required to track the locations of its customers. That is something they are doing via the use of the latest in geo-tracking software technology.
