888Sport is the latest addition to a growing roster of sports betting apps for residents of New Jersey. The app launched in mid-September 2018 and joins six other mobile betting options. Online sports betting is legal for all residents of New Jersey that are 21 years of age or older.
The 888 gaming brand has already established a strong presence in the state with online casino gaming and online poker. The new sports betting app will be integrated into those operations. This will allow bettors to use one account to wager across all platforms. 888 Holdings is not US-based, being registered in Gibraltar. The company is publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange and has a strong reputation in the industry.
Officials with 888 Holdings have stated that they hope legalized sports betting will become a trend in the US. The company is creating its foothold in New Jersey with the goal of expanding to other states as legalization occurs. 888 currently partners with Caesars Entertainment. All online providers are required to have an affiliation with a land-based gaming facility in New Jersey.
Online bettors will be able to wager on live sporting events such as football and basketball games. They will be able to take advantage of a betting menu that is comparable to that offered by a live sports book. Players can also play poker games against other players from New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware, and they can enjoy online slots and table games like blackjack.
