Missouri Legislature Decides to Stay With Prop Bets
February 2, 2026In the face of federal indictments related to NCAA BB game fixing, State regulators around the nation are giving extra scrutiny to the allowing of proposition bets on college sports. Indeed, regulators in Missouri took a good look at the issue.
Notably, sports betting, retail and online, went live in Missouri on December 10, 2025. Under the provisions established by the Missouri Gaming Commission, prop bets on all sports were to be allowed. The commission has decided to hold the line in that direction.
MGC Chair Jan Zimmerman told the press:
“I just don’t feel that I have enough information to grant a request by the NCAA to prohibit this type of sports wagering because I don’t know enough yet.”
Of course, the Commission will be monitoring this issue, ready to make sudden changes if deemed necessary.
