Far too many times, sports bettors will look at the list of available betting markets and struggle to find one that temps them to place a bet. That's particularly true of sports bettors who tend to think outside of the box and want to bet on a market or betting option that is not readily available.
In Vegas retail sportsbooks, there is a tradition of bookmakers having a willingness to entertain bets on which a particular customer might want to wager. The customer strolls up to the sportsbook manager, proposes a bet, and the manager decides if the sportsbook would be willing to make a line and take a bet.
It's quite amazing that PointsBet Illinois is one of the few mobile sports betting operators that is willing to let customers "Name a Bet." They are promoting this sports betting feature until further notice. Here is how it works.
Through the Illinois sports bettor's mobile app, sports bettors can find the Name A Bet option on the menu at the lefthand side of the home landing page. They can click on the option and a window will open that will allow them to propose a bet. After proposing the bet, they can submit it and await an answer.
Within a very short time, PointsBet will respond. If they are willing to take a bet on the requested market, they will price it with either a point spread, money line price, or both. The bettor is then free to place the bet within the betting limits that Points Bet management will allow.
Of course, PointsBet reserves the right to reject any proposed wager.
Other Terms and Conditions:
1. The Name a Bet option is available to all existing PointsBet customers, new and existing.
2. To register with PointsBet Illinois, customers have to be at least 21 years old with proof of age documentation available.
3. All customers will need to place bets only when they are in-state. To confirm compliance with this law, PointsBet tracks customer locations at all times. This is done with the latest is geo-tracking software technology.
