Sometimes, sports bettors get a little nervous when they hit multiple legs of a parley and still have a game or two to go. They suddenly have this desire to grab hold of some of their potential winnings so they don't see it all go down the tubes because of one game. This is something online bookmakers like PointsBet Illinois are acutely aware of. That's why they sometimes put forth promos that allow bettors to prematurely cash out on pending wagers. Let's take a look at PointsBet's current cashout promo.
This is an ongoing promotion that the bookmaker will keep on the bonus menu until further notice. To participate in this promo, bettors must first make a multi-leg parlay of at least two teams. If at any point some of the legs are winners and the remaining games have not yet started, bettors can cash out a portion of their original wager at the reduced odds.
Example: Bettor A places a 4 leg sports bet for $100. The wager is scheduled to pay out at 11 to 1 odds or a total of $1,200 returning to the bettor. After the first three games go final, the bettor has three winners with one game to be played later. With the cashout promo, the bettor can cash out a portion of their $100 wager. The amount of the payout would be based on a three-leg parlay or about 6 to 1.
To take advantage of this offer, the bettor would go to their pending bet menu and select the applicable parlay. They will find a cashout bar that will allow them to select the portion they want to cash out. The balance of the wager will remain in effect until the whole parley has been settled in one way or another.
Participants in the cashout option must be registered with PointsBet. They must be able to prove there are over 20 years old when making their cashout request. Furthermore, bettors must be in the state of Illinois when they make their wagers and subsequently choose to take advantage of the cashout option.
