There is little doubt about the fact that U.S. sports bettors favor betting on NFL games over any other available betting markets. Need proof?
According to data collected in late 2022 by CRG Global for the Variety Intelligence Platform, 81% of all respondents placed at least one NFL bet at that point in the 2022 NFL season. Compared to the 54% that reported betting on at least one NBA game during the 2021-2022 season, there is a huge difference in betting preference.
With the results in from the 2025 NFL drafts and contracts being signed, team rosters are finally starting to take shape. What does that mean for U.S. retail and online sports bettors who enjoy betting on NFL games? Now is the time to start looking at the start of the 2025 NFL regular season.
With 10 weeks remaining until the start of the NFL's first regular season game this year, online sports betting operators have been busy posting prop options and future odds on conference championships and the brass ring, 2026 Super Bowl LX. The first game of the season is scheduled for September 4, with the reigning Super Bowl champion, the Philadelphia Eagles, playing host to arch-rival the Dallas Cowboys. Everything will culminate with the Super Bowl, where the AFC Conference champion will square off against the NFC Conference champion on February 8, 2026, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Attention, NFL fans and U.S. online sports bettors. Your favorite online sportsbook is ready for action. The future odds for the AFC Conference Championship, NFC Conference Championship, and Super Bowl LX are posted, and wagers are being accepted. Let's take a look at the odds as they stand here in mid-June.
Note: These odds were extracted from BeRivers. If another U.S. online sportsbook is chosen, the odds could vary.
AFC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP Future Odds
BAL Ravens = +325
BUF Bills = +350
KC Chiefs = +375
CIN Bengals = +800
LA Chargers = +1100
HOU Texans = +1150
DEN Broncos = +1400
PIT Steelers = +1900
MIA Dolphins = +2500
NE Patriots = +2800
IND Colts = +3000
JAX Jaguars = +3000
LV Raiders = +3500
NY Jets = +5000
CLE Browns = +6000
TEN Titans = +6000
Recommendations: Of the three favorites, no team has yet shown the ability to knock the Chiefs off their perch as AFC Champs. Could this be the year? If someone is looking a little lower, trying to get some value, the Broncos at +1400 might be a good place to start. Coming off a much-improved 2024 season, the Broncos figure to take a step forward behind 2nd-year QB Bo Nix and a reliable defense.
NFC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP Future Odds
PHI Eagles = +300
DET Lions = +400
SF 49ers = +700
WAS Commanders = +800
GB Packers = +1000
LA Rams = +1000
TB Buccaneers = +1400
MIN Vikings = +1600
CHI Bears = +1700
DAL Cowboys = +2200
ARI Cardinals = +2500
ATL Falcons = +2500
SEA Seahawks = +2500
CAR Panthers = +4000
NO Saints = +6000
NY Giants = +6000
Recommendations: It's hard to imagine any team winning the conference other than the top 4 teams on this list. SF 49ers backers are counting on the team returning to its 2023 form, believing that injuries and team unrest will not be repeated. While the Super Bowl champ Eagles should remain formidable, it's hard to forget the Lions won 15 games and led the league in scoring by a wide margin. Watch out for the Commanders, coming off an excellent 12-5. They made personnel improvements in the off-season and could surprise.
SUPER BOWL LX Future Odds
PHI Eagles = +650
BAL Ravens = +700
BUF Bills = +700
KC Chiefs = +750
DET Lions = +900
SF 49ers = +1600
WAS Commanders = +1700
CIN Bengals = +2000
GB Packers = +2000
LA Rams = +2200
HOU Texans = +2800
LA Chargers = +2800
MIN Vikings = +2800
TB Buccaneers = +2800
CHI Bears = +3300
DEN Broncos = +3500
DAL Cowboys = +4500
PIT Steelers = +4500
ARI Cardinals = +5000
ATL Falcons = +5000
MIA Dolphins = +5000
SEA Seahawks = +5000
NE Patriots = +5500
IND Colts = +6000
JAX Jaguars = +6000
CAR Panthers = +7000
LV Raiders = +7000
NY Jets = +9000
CLE Browns = +11000
NO Saints = +11000
NY Giants = +11000
TEN Titans = +11000
Recommendations: When wagering on a specific team or teams to win the Super Bowl, it seems prudent to place two (2) bets, one on a logical choice with good value, and one on a longshot that seems sure to make the playoffs. Using the Detroit Lions at +900 and the Washington Commanders at +1700 makes sense. By record, the Lions were the best team during the regular season last year. Coming into the 2025 season, it seems strange that they are ranked as the 5th-best team by bookmakers. Seems there is a lot of wagering value here. Pair them up with an improving Commanders team at +1700 should set bettors up in a good position, heading into the playoffs.
For the benefit of recreational bettors who fancy themselves to be NFL prognosticators, there are other future odds proposition options available. In preparation for the start of the regular season, let's take a look at a few of these prop options and see if any wagering opportunities with value are available.
Most Passing Yards by a QB
Burrow, Joe (Bengals) = +450
Mahomes, Patrick Ciefs) = +700
Prescott, Dak (Cowboys) +1000
Goff, Jared (Lions) = +1300
Allen, Josh (Bills) = +1500
Mayfield, Baker (Bucaneers) = +1500
Purdy, Brock (49ers) = +1500
Stroud, C.J. (Texans) = +1500
Daniels, Jayden - (Commanders) = +2000
Recommendations: Burrows threw 652 passes last year for over 4,900 yards. While his offensive line makes it hard for a QB to stay healthy, the Bengals are a pass-oriented offense, making it likely Joe will lead the pack again if healthy. +450 is a fair price.
Most Rushing Yards by a RB
Barkley, Saquon (Eagles) = +300
Henry, Derrick (Ravens) = +500
McCaffrey, Christian (49ers) = +1000
Taylor, Jonathan (Colts) = +1000
Robinson, Bijan (Falcons) = +1200
Gibbs, Jahmyr (Lions) = +1500
Jacobs, Josh (Packers) = +1500
Jeanty, Ashton (Raiders) = +1500
Irving, Bucky (Bucaneers) = +2000
Recommendations: Barkley and Henry battled for the rushing title throughout the entire 2024 season. Barkley took he title with 2,005 yards, 84 more than Henry. One of these two players will win the title in 2025. Both running backs play for teams that love to run the ball between the tackles. Since the Eagles will want to protect QB Jalen Hurts as much as possible, it looks like Barkley is the man again. An astute gambler would bet both players in equal amounts and go to the bank with a nifty profit at the end of the season
Most Receiving Yards by a WR or TE
Chase, Ja'Marr (Bengals) = +550
Jefferson, Justin Vikings) = +700
Collins, Nico (Texans) = +1000
Lamb, CeeDee (Cowboys) = +1000
Nabers, Malik (Giants) = +1000
Hill, Tyreek (Dolphins) = +1500
Nacua, Puka (Rams) = +1500
Thomas Jr., Brian (Jaquars) = +1500
Brown, A.J. (Eagles) = +2000
Recommendations: Chase stayed healthy in 2024 and responded by winning the Triple Crown for wide receivers. That is made up of catches (127), yards (1,708), and TDs (17). When healthy, Chase is the biggest deep threat in the game, and he should take the receiving title. If Chase gets dinged up, Thomas Jr. of the Jaguars offers a lot of value at +1500. He is coming off a stellar rookie season during which he accounted for close to 1,300 yards on only 87 catches. If he catches the ball at least 100 times and maintains his 14.7 YPC number from last year, he could surprise the pack and take down the receiving title. With Chase sitting at +500, why not wager on both players?
