In states where retail and online sports betting has been legalized, there is no shortage of operators that are able and willing to take sports bets. What is limited is the access that U.S. sports bettors have to reliable sports handicapping resources. That looks to be changing as a company called Rithmm Inc. launches its A.I.-driven handicapping app.
Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, Rithmm is a sports betting tech firm that has been developing a robust handicapping tool to help sports bettors make better predictions about the possible outcomes of sports events. The company has formally announced the launch of its predictive analytics app in the U.S.
According to Megan Lanham, CEO of Rithmm in a press release picked up by PlayUSA:
"The official launch of Rithmm is the culmination of our vision, hard work, and passion. The invaluable insights shared by our beta testers have been instrumental in shaping Rithmm into the exceptional platform it is today.
With the Core and Premium offerings and our groundbreaking NFL product, we are excited to usher in a new era of personalized, immersive betting experiences for our users."
The new Rithmm app is available to Android and iOS users by subscription membership only. The app has been designed to allow sports bettors to customize their own statistical models, using the last three years of data covering five key statistical categories: passing, running, offense, defense, and categorical rankings. These are the categories used for football (NFL & NCAA FB) with slightly different categories available for basketball (NBA, WNBA, & NCAA BB - men and women).
The resulting information can be used to predict game outcomes, scores and totals, and winning probabilities. The program also uses the available statistical data to determine if there is a betting edge in a particular game versus the point spread (green= good, yellow = slight).
Rithmm is selling annual subscription memberships in two tiers: Core and Premium. It's worth noting that the cost of the app/membership combination is a bit expensive. The Core membership runs $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year for an annual savings of $58.11. The Premium membership comes with extra handicapping features at a cost of $99.99 per month or $999.99 per year for an annual savings of $199.89.
Accessing the reliability of Rithmm's app is very difficult to do at this early stage. In its press release, the company offered no insight into the effectiveness and reliability of the app. Accessing its viability will require months of testing and accumulating game-by-game information, plus gathering input from members who are willing to share their results.
This much is fair to say. In the A.I. handicapping space, Rithmm has very little competition with only Quarte4 and BetQL coming to mind. This sounds like a really good handicapping option if it works as advertised. The problem is that $999.99 a year is a lot of money to spend on a handicapping tool that has no track record, good or bad.
