In May 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court said there would be no more federal bans on sports betting in the U.S. That pushed the right to decide the fate of sports betting in each state to the respective state legislatures.
After the good news was announced, some states immediately went to work on crafting sports betting legislation. Other states took a "wait-and-see" approach while a few states indicated they might never pass sports betting legislation.
It's August 2023. It's been more than five (5) years since the SCOTUS made its historic announcement. This is a good time to take a look at the state of sports betting in each of the 50 states.
