Virginia Online Poker

Virginia has joined the list of US states that now permit online gambling in various forms. Most recently Virginia has seen the launch of its very first online sports betting platforms. Many believe that online casinos will not be far behind.

The very first online sportsbooks began to appear in Virginia just in time for the 2021 Super Bowl. Bettors in the state are allowed to make wagers on professional and collegiate sporting events at various bookmakers. Among those initially licensed to offer online sports betting online in Virginia are industry leaders like William Hill and PointsBet.

The Virginia legislature has started to move forward with an expansive bill that would open the door for other forms of online gambling. This would include online casinos and possibly online poker rooms.

The online gambling action in Virginia has begun with two operators. It is expected that many others will join this group. Like some other states, Virginia is looking to tie online gambling to live casino properties in the state. This simplifies the process of licensing and collecting revenues.

Here's what you can expect with online gambling in Virginia. Online sports betting was the first type of wagering allowed, and in its first few months it has generated millions of dollars in revenue. Online sportsbooks offer straight wagers, odds bets, money line bets, and exotic wagers like teasers and parlays.

When launched, expect Virginia online casinos to provide all of the classic online casino games. These can include baccarat, blackjack, slots, and video poker. Online gambling games in Virginia can be played with a computer or mobile device.
