Bwin.party Digital Entertainment confirms talks with GVC and 888 Holdings

Online gambling giant bwin.party confirmed that it has received a number of acquisitions proposal, including from GVC Holdings and 888 Holdings. The group is currently reviewing these proposals.

A couple of companies announced recently that they were interested in buying bwin.party or in tying knots with the group resulting from the merger of bwin and PartyGaming. GVC Holdings, which holds Sportingbet, Betboo and Casino Club is part of them. “The Board of bwin.party reconfirms that it is continuing its discussions with a number of third parties and has received revised proposals including from GVC Holdings regarding a variety of possible business combinations. There can be no guarantee that these discussions will result in any transaction being completed and a further update will be given in due course », bwin.party said in a statement last Friday. Monday morning, 888 Holdings announced a takeover bid on its competitor. A decision confirmed by bwin.party in a statement that reads “the Board of bwin.party has noted the announcement made by 888 Holdings and confirms that it has received a proposal to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of bwin.party. The Board and its advisors are conducting a detailed review of the proposals received to-date and will make a further announcement in due course”.
