While the Bally Interactive name has been prominent in the U.S, gambling industry for decades, the company has been very slow to get involved in the online gambling community. With that said, the company does intend on getting involved. To that end, they have developed a viable sports betting and online casino mobile platform that is slowly being rolled out in key states.
Currently, the Bally Bet sports betting platform is available in Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, and Virginia with New York on deck. Regarding Bally's presence in New York, information has come out that the company has intentionally been slow-walking the licensing process. Why?
According to Bally’s Chairman Soo Kim, "wave of consolidation that will rationalize promotions” adding that he thinks “people will stop competing with free money but people will start competing with product.”
What he is referring to is the intense competition for New York sports bettors where mobile operators are posting incredible cash offers. In his opinion, it's better to delay opening a New York mobile wagering site until the bonus heat has cooled.
To be a real player in the U.S. online gambling community, mobile operators need to be offering access to the full spectrum of online gambling options. That includes casino gambling, sports betting, and poker playing. At of the end of January 2022, Bally Interactive officially joined a host of other U.S. operators that are offering mobile casino gambling in the state of New Jersey.
Before the excitement starts to build, all evidence suggests that the Bally Online Casino is very much a work-in-progress platform. They are currently offering a limited selection of slots and table games. However, they have yet to release a suite of live casino games.
New Jersey casino players should consider this to be a short-term problem. To compete with the other online casino providers, Bally will have to beef up its game selection, Why the delay?
Since Bally has a viable brick-and-mortar hotel and casino in Atlantic City, they seem to be taking a cautious approach about pulling customers away from the casino by offering too many online games. It's the same issue that Caesars and BetMGM have been dealing with since they hit the New Jersey market.
If Bally is to follow suit, they will be offering online casino players benefits related to the operators brick-and-mortar properties. That might include free rooms, meal allowances, and the opportunity to see shows. To date, Bally is not yet offering these extra benefits. However, it'ds a good bet they have something in the works that they will be rolling out in the near future.
Since this makes Bally's first foray into the online casino market, they will be looking at the results to determine if and when they want to roll out the same platform in other states. Clearly, all of this is leading towards Bally making a big play to become a major contributor in the U.S. online gambling community.
