Locaid, the world’s largest “location-as-a-service” company, has been chosen to provide a multi-state geolocalisation compliance API for the states of Delaware and Nevada, which allows gaming operators to comply with the landmark Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement signed on February 25 by Governors Brian Sandoval (Nevada) and Governor Jack Markell (Delaware).
The Locaid Compliance API provides the online and internet gambling industry with the first multi-state, non-spoofable geolocation API that is compliant with strict state regulatory requirements and works with Locaid’s massive mobile and connected device reach and accuracy and is currently the preferred location solution for nearly all of the gaming applications approved for wagering in Nevada and Delaware.
“Locaid delivers mobile compliance technology that ultimately enabled the first interstate online poker deal in U.S. history,” said Rip Gerber, President and CEO of Locaid. “We have been plumbing the mobile location systems with carriers, operators and regulators for years to reach this landmark accord, and we congratulate Nevada and Delaware in delivering a secure, customer-friendly geolocalisation compliance approach that can cross state lines. We look forward to working with additional state regulatory teams and gaming operators as they onboard this year. And if New Jersey joins the pact, our location service currently deployed in the Garden State will seamlessly integrate.”
The Locaid Compliance API was specifically built to allow gaming operators to follow strict state regulatory requirements in both wagering and lottery offers via the Internet and mobile channels. The company understands the regulations that prohibit patrons from accessing mobile gaming from out-of-state or in New Jersey’s case, from parking garages and parking lots, whether or not they are located on the casino’s premises.
