California voters in favor of online poker regulation
May 2, 2014According to polling and strategic consulting firm Tulchin Research, the majority of voters in California would back online poker regulation. A good news for the industry as two new bills seeking to legalize online poker in California have recently been introduced.
The survey covering the whole state of California, which did not give any information about the economic benefits, revealed that 62% of the population would support online poker regulation while 28% would be against it. After being informed about the economic benefits, support increased to 68% and opposition dropped to 27%. “This poll clearly show California voters want online poker regulated and taxed in a way to maximize the benefit for the state and its citizens while also enduring the safety of participants”, read a statement from Tulchin Research, which conducted the survey mid-April of this year.
