Bovada blocks registrations for its online poker service in New Jersey
May 30, 2014Online gambling and betting company Bovada, which offers online poker in the US through its Bovada.lv website, announced that it will no longer accept new registrations for its online poker service in New Jersey. Sportsbook, horse racing wagering and casino remain open to sign-ups.
“Our partner bran Bovada.lv has chosen to stop new accounts registrations for residents of the state of New Jersey. Existing account holders will not affected”, read a statement issued by the firm. “This is a decision they have taken of their own volition and they hope that their existing customers continue to enjoy all of the products and services Bovada.lv has to offer”, it added.
The announcement comes only one week after a number of affiliates received “cease and desist” letters from New Jersey regulators urging them to remove all the links to illegal poker websites that are offering real money games in the Garden State.
