Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma launches Online Casino

The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma has opened the doors of its online casino. The new online casino platform was launched last week on Wednesday. The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma owns two land-based casinos in Oklahoma with more than 800 tribal members. However, only three US states are allowed to provide online gambling between states (New Jersey, Delaware and Nevada).  The new online casino is accessible to any resident in the United States except for those located in the same state of Oklahoma. International players are also welcome to play in the new online casino. The online casino not only offers casino games, bingo, pull-tabs, but also a new online poker-room, Poker Tribe. Poker Tribe and the online casino will be adding new features to this new project with the addition of new titles as well as real money games. Universal Entertainment Group, one of the main online gaming firms in the country, has been selected among many others to become Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma casino’s partner. The casino has also in mind the international market where the two online gambling sites will be accessible from international cruise ships and flights.

This has been a long process since the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma first revealed the international online poker and casino back in September 2015. In 2014, Universal Entertainment tried to create a similar project with two other casinos based in Oklahoma but the state approval was not enough against federal ruling. For this particular project with the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Gaming Compliance Unit considered it a violation of the gaming state legislation. Charles Chapel, former judge of Oklahoma Criminal Court of Appeals, came out in favor of this project stating that offering gambling products online was just another format for casinos to reach out their customers: “The arbitrator’s decision as affirmed by the federal court order and judgment, applies to all tribes in the state of Oklahoma. Every tribe has the same opportunity as the Iowa Tribe to engage in internet gaming consistent with the arbitrator’s decision and certification by the federal court.”

Poker Tribe has become now the only poker room in the United States that provided online poker and casino games to international markets.
