FanDuel Takes Proactive Responsible Gambling Stance

At a time when a couple of U.S. Senators want to have DraftKings and FanDuel investigated for antitrust violations, FanDuel is doing all that can to show excellent compliance in the responsible gambling area. They have recently made a major move in this direction by introducing a proprietary software function called "MySpend Dashboard."

In participating states, the MySpend Dashboard has been made available to registered customers. This feature was introduced as a value-added way for customers to personally track their gambling history, better manage their bankrolls, and get exposure to the possibility problem gambling issues might be on the horizon.

According to Alison Kutler, Vice President, Responsible Gaming and Community Impact at FanDuel (in a general press release):

MySpend Dashboard - The Details

According to management at FanDuel, the MySpend Dashboard feature was born out of requests by customers regarding the history of their online gambling activities.

The design of this feature came from a desire to keep customers informed about the extent of their gambling activities to help them monitor for responsible gambling issues. The Dashboard also offers ways for customers to set limits. Here are a few of MySpend Dashboard's key features:

• Monitor gambling activities over specific timeframes (one week, four weeks, or three months


• Budgeting tool to help customers set up realistic bankrolls and monitor their progress


• Intergration with a tool that helps set deposit limits (amount & frequency)


• Intergration with a tool that helps set wager limits per wager

FanDuel's management will be using targeted advertising to inform the masses about this new feature. They want to spread the news quickly as U.S. online gambling operators are getting more pressure to add problem gambling initiatives to protect customers. TV, social media, and radio advertising will be used to help spread the word.

FanDuel will be providing access to the MySpend Dashboard feature across all of its online gambling platforms. That includes

• Online casino play


• Sports betting


• Daily Fantasy Sports


• Horse racing


• The faceoff platform

Other Recent Responsible Gambling Initiatives

FanDuel is not alone in its raised focus on problem gambling prevention. All U.S. online gambling operators are facing scrutiny from lawmakers who don't want to regret passing online gambling legislation.

Other recent initiatives in DraftKings' "My Stat Sheet" RG tool, and FanDuel's prior initiative called "Trusted Voices: Conversations About Gambling." The are other initiatives that have been created within the industry.

All of this is being done to ensure current and future online gamblers are aware of the potential of gambling abuse. By keeping the masses educated, they hope problem gambling stats will remain stagnant, something that will eventually aid in the passing of future online gambling legislation.
