Wynn Resorts Limited has been approved by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and is now authorized to provide online gambling services in the Garden State.
Wynn Resorts Limited has teamed up with Caesars Interactive to offer online poker to New Jersey’s residents Seth Palansly, a spokesperson for CIE, stated that he did not know whether Wynn Resorts was planning on going live. ‘We are allowing them to use one of our permits. I am not aware of if they are going live, or when”, he said.
This announcement comes after revelations that Steve Wynn may be joining Sheldon Adelson in his crusade against online gambling. It appears that the company is unlikely to launch its online offer in the near future. “As Mr. Wynn this recently, online gaming does not appear to be a good entrepreneurial opportunity. Consequently, our plans are on hold until we understand the business opportunity”, added Wynn spokesman Michael Weaver.
Wynn now shows Adelson’s concerns that online gambling would allow teens and college students to blow fortunes online. Wynn said that online gambling had a potential “narcotic” effect on young people and worried about the possibility of someone logging into an account and handing it off to someone else.He also believes that underage gambling will not be successfully stopped, calling current geotracking software measures “bullsh**.” In the end, Wynn believes that online gambling will never get through Congress. According to Wynn, “legalizing web gaming can’t get through the House of Representatives. They can’t agree on anything, especially something this esoteric.”
