According to anonymous sources in New Jersey, online poker websites PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker will soon receive approval to launch in the online gaming market and could start offering online poker in New Jersey in October of the year. The information has yet to be confirmed by the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), the Garden State’s online gambling regulator.
Amaya received the go-ahead to prepare PokerStars and Full Tilt for their upcoming New Jersey launches. They have more than one month to meet to requirements and regulations for the state’s online poker and gaming operations, fulfill all licensing obligations and prepare promotions to welcome players to the websites. Olford Group’s acquisition by Amaya Gaming seems to have unlocked the situation for the world leading poker operator in the Garden State.
Both websites could boost New Jersey’s already declining online poker market only six month after its opening, take it to a new level and generate more revenue. According to the last figures published by the DGE in June 2014, online gambling generated $10.4m for the casinos in New Jersey. A figure down one million compared to the previous month.
