When the decision was made at Caesars Entertainment Interactive to partner with WSOP's online poker platform, big things were expected. As if on cue, WSOP and Caesars have announced that the world's leading WSOP online poker-playing platform will immediately rebrand to WSOP Online.
As part of the new brand, WSOP Online has created an innovative and updated platform. What makes the platform unique is the fact it became the first U.S,-based platform that links three (3) U.S. states into one poker room. Players from Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania will not be able to play online poker in poker rooms filled with poker players from each of these respective states. Note: Players in these states will need to register directly with WSOP Online to get access to the website's poker rooms.
In a recent press release, Danielle Barille, vice president of online poker at Caesars Digital, stated:
“This platform upgrade is long overdue and is a big win for our players. The best is yet to come for WSOP Online tournaments, and we’re thrilled to bring Michigan players into the fold with Nevada and New Jersey, resulting in a better experience, more value, and the biggest prize pools of the year.”
The improvements that WSOP Online brings to the table are noteworthy. It goes well beyond making it possible for poker players in multiple states to be easily integrated into one poker platform.
One great advantage WSOP Online will have effective immediately is increased liquidity. This increased liquidity will come naturally as a result of the pooling of players process.
Another advantage that the site can claim is the ability to migrate WSOP.com players over from the former website easily. Of course, players will have to state their intentions to move by completing the WSOP Online registration process. Once they have completed that mission, the new operator will be able to move existing balances, tournament credits/tickets, and rewards points on behalf of new players. Caesarsestimates this process could take up to seven (7) business days to complete. Meanwhile, players will be permitted to immediately start making cash deposits.
Note: Players transitioning over from WSOP.com will not be eligible to take advantage of WSOP Online's welcome bonus offer. In other news, WSOP has indicated they will be offering 30 online bracelet events scheduled to run from June 1 to July 21. That's 10 more bracelets than the WSOP.com site offered last year over the same period.
