Pennsylvania is one of the hottest markets in the United States right now for legalized online gambling. Lawmakers in the state have taken a very progressive approach to online casinos, sports betting, and poker. PokerStars has recently launched its new casino and poker platforms in Pennsylvania.
Fox Bet has partnered with PokerStars to launch the well-known online poker platform. Fox Bet announced on November 4, 2019 that it was going live with PokerStars and PokerStars Casino in Pennsylvania. Both products are available as apps for Android and iOS mobile devices, and they can also be accessed with a web browser.
Online poker was scheduled to begin in Pennsylvania in September 2019. Delays occurred that many thought would push the launch of online poker into 2020. Pennsylvania has already legalized online sports betting and casino games, with operators such as Parx Casino leading in those operations.
The launch in Pennsylvania comes after a period of testing for a limited number of patrons. Everything seems to have worked well. Since November 6 the casino and poker room has been open continuously.
Online poker and casino revenues are expected to be a huge boost to the state's treasury. Many states are being forced to confront the reality that online gambling is profitable. Many believe that by the end of 2020 almost half of the states in the US will have some form of legal online gambling.
Pennsylvania was able to get on board early and become one of the first states to make virtually all forms of online gambling legal. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board oversees the licensing and regulation of the state's online casinos.
