It was just a few days when gaming’s analyst Adam Krejcik commented the problems on the online poker network in the United States: “Many will argue that we are only in the early innings of regulated online poker in the U.S. and problems surrounding payment processing and geo-location have negatively impacted results. Looking forward, we believe states considering adopting real-money online poker should have cautious expectations and believe it’s important to not lose sight of the bigger issue, which is to grow overall gaming revenues”. And, in less than a week, poker players have received the good news that the US online poker network will start pretty soon as Nevada has begun with the legal arrangements.
888 Holdings, connected to Treasure Island in Las Vegas, has received the authorization from the Nevada Gaming Control Board this Wednesday to develop the online poker network that would connect the different poker rooms from the various casinos from those US states that have legalized and regulated online gambling already. This network is going to have both, Caesars Interactive Entertainment’s WSOP.com and Treasure Island’s online poker rooms as well as a separate site for 888 Poker. However the final verdict will have to come from the Nevada Gaming Commission on the next meeting scheduled for July 24. Attorney Yehoshua Gurtler, 888 representative, has said: “For Nevada, a network provides more gaming taxes due to greater product attractiveness and player participation”.
