Nevada's online poker revenue increases in May

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has given good news that is coming from increases in revenues during the month of May. This has been very revealing for the online gambling industry as the market had been starting the year suffering some drops off. The online gambling industry from Nevada has brought to the table the most important aspect of this industry, which is making the economy of the state move faster at a safe pace. The gambling figures for May have revealed an 8% increase in revenues, meaning $970.3 million over the same month of May from 2013.

The state of Nevada, the Silver State, is one of the few markets open to the online industry although has been a really rough road. The Silver State was able to collect several millions of dollars in gaming taxes last year, which has been one of the major supports for the industry to fend off the anti online gambling groups from both, private organizations and politicians. But the market in Nevada has one of the strongest allies in the country, Las Vegas. The boulevard of Casinos and all kind of establishments dedicated to both, gaming and gambling, have made one important point by holding the World Series of Poker of this year 2014. WSOP has launched an incredible media campaign that has allowed online poker providers to develop the state’s online poker network. But not only WSOP is doing a terrific job by boosting the whole online gambling market as Ultimate Poker and Real Gaming are also part of this success. Since the online poker industry in the Silver State started up last year, the market has been able to generate $10.2 million in revenues. The state has been able to collect $700,000 in gambling taxes.
