While online sports betting and casino gambling are ruling the U.S. online gambling market, online poker has been making a move of its own in recent months. All of this had led the WSOP Online organization to now include pokers players from the states of Michigan and Pennsylvania in their plans for the returning WSOP Online 2022 tournament.
Registered WSOP customers from Michigan and Pennsylvania will now be joining players from New Jersey and Nevada in this exciting WSOP Online feature event. All players will be permitted to play together in pools throughout the tournament’s events with a few exceptions.
It turns out that there are legal issues that will prevent MI and PA players from participating in some of the events. Said players will not be allowed to participate in the following events: the $400 PLOSSUS 6-Max game on Sept. 24 and a $10,000 Super High Roller event on Oct. 18. Participation will be restricted because the state of PA has not yet signed a multistate gaming compact for online gambling while the state of MI has recently signed such an agreement but not in time to qualify for WSOP Online 2022.
In the future, it looks as though both of these states will have this issue rectified. It also looks like other states will be following suit as they add online poker playing as a viable online gambling option.
This exciting series of poker events will be running from September 10, 2022, until October 18, 2022. Again, players from all four states will be permitted to enter any and all of these events with the aforementioned exception. All events will be run through the WSOP online website at scheduled times.
This will be the third time this annual tournament has been held with its popularity getting stronger each year. While the total pool structure has yet to be determined, it is worth noting that more than $25 million in prize money was earned in each of the prior years. With players from two more states added into the mix, entry fees are sure to push the total well above what was awarded in prior years.
Players at all levels are encouraged to join in the action. A wide range of games will be covered with entry fees ranging from $365 to as high as $10,000. The marquee event of the entire tournament will be the No-Limit Texas Hold’em event to be held on October 16, 2022. The buy-in for this event will be $1,000.
For certain, this announcement rings of excitement for poker players in the two new states. This will be their first chance to participate in mixed pool events with legitimate WSOP online gold bracelets on the line. Anyone who would like more information about this coming tournament series should visit the WSOP website. Players should be able to enter events up to about 5 minutes before each respective event is slated to begin. Welcome online poker players from Michigan and Pennsylvania.
