Garden State Super Series: 60 Events with $1 million guaranteed
September 4, 2014
Do you dream of playing in the World Series of Poker? If you’re like most poker players, then the answer is certainly yes. However, traveling to Las Vegas and buying-in to the Main Event for $10,000 is probably not a realistic scenario. You have probably looked long and hard for someone to stake or sponsor you, but you haven’t had any luck. You would have a better chance of hitting a one-outer on the river against the luckiest poker player in the world. Fortunately, there is now a better option than the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
It takes place in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and it’s called the Garden State Super Series. It’s even possible that this is New Jersey’s way of attempting to steal share from the Las Vegas, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Florida poker markets. Contrary to popular belief, Florida is the biggest threat, now hosting more poker games and tournaments than any other state in the country. But what is going to make this New Jersey poker tournament series so appealing to poker players?
The answer to that question is simple. The Garden State Super Series will offer 60 poker tournaments over just two weeks. Can a poker player possibly find itself in a greater paradise? Unlike the World Series of Poker, these events are affordable. You might think that means low payouts, but the smallest guaranteed payout is $500, and the largest guaranteed payout is $200,000. That’s not pocket change.
Entry fees range from $10 to $1,000, with most of them between $10 and $100. However, BorgataPoker.com is offering nine mega-satellites for those who are looking to get in on the cheap. And considering the Borgata is listing this as a poker tournament for super grinders and poker players just looking to get their feet wet, you’re definitely going to want to get in on the action.
