Win up to 1 million dollars during the Road to the Kentucky Derby Showdown. This TwinSpires contest has only three simple steps that players must complete. Not only will they be competing for the $1,000,000 Jackpot prize, but they will also have the chance to win tickets to the Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Derby merchandise and even a share of $10,000. The Road to the Kentucky Derby Showdown contest starts on February 7th and ends on Saturday, May 2, 2015, the day of the famous Kentucky Derby horse race.

How to Play

The very first step in entering this contest is to place a $20 Show bet on 19 Road to the Kentucky Derby races. On February 7th, players must place a $20 Show bet on the Withers Stakes at Aqueduct, followed by a $20 Show bet on the Robert Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita. This is where the prep round play begins. Through April 11th, $20 Show bets will be made on prep races for a chance to win Kentucky Derby and Oaks Tickets, as well as Kentucky Derby merchandise. Prep rounds end with the Arkansas Derby. Because wagers made on scratched horses will not count in this contest, all scratches must be re-bet.

Those who have won at least one bet during the prep rounds will have the opportunity to wager in the final round. This final round is a cash winning contest. Simply place a $20 Show bet on the Kentucky Derby which takes place on May 2nd. Players who win their show bet during the Kentucky Derby race have the chance to win multiple shares of the $10,000 prize, depending on the amount of winning contest wagers they had during the prep rounds.

Contest Prizes and Jackpots

At the end of the prep rounds, players who have the most winning contest wagers will win a variety of prizes. First place will receive a pair of tickets to the 2016 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks. 2nd through 10th place will receive a Kentucky Derby Polo shirt and 11th through 20th will win a Kentucky Derby hat. Players who win all prep rounds along with the final round will win the entire $1,000,000 jackpot or split it with other winners.
