Online casino games, poker, sports and horse racing betting websites authorized in USA
There is a strong conservative presence in Tennessee that will likely hamper any efforts made by the state to draft online gambling legislation. There is not a single live casino located in Tennessee, and many residents seem to like it that way. However, there does seem to be a more relaxed attitude toward some types of online gambling.
In a very strange twist compared to other states that have made online gambling legal, Tennessee legalized sports betting on May 24, 2019 with one very big condition. The only type of sports betting allowed in Tennessee is online betting. There are no live sportbooks in the state.
Daily fantasy sports from providers like DraftKings and Fan Duel are also allowed. The last time online gambling legislation for online casinos was proposed in Tennessee the bill perished without even a debate. It seems unreasonable to expect anything different in the near future.
There is always a chance that Tennessee could be swayed by the revenues it earns from online sports betting. Until that occurs there is no reason to expect a shift in the attitudes of lawmakers toward online casinos. Even an old bill which permits live horse racing tracks in the state seems to have been mostly forgotten.
Tennessee has mandated that all sports bettors must be 21 years of age or older. Online sports betting providers are required to verify the age of all participants before the player is allowed to make sports bets.
