DraftKings, the leader on fantasy sports, has entered into one more partnership with another of the teams from one of the major sport leagues in the US. This time, the fantasy sports operator, has made it to the NBA basketball court by becoming the sponsor of the Minnesota Timberwolves. DraftKings will be the sponsor of both the Minnesota Timberwolves’s channels: the social media channel and the WolvesCast official podcasts. The operator will have presence on the courtside during the team’s games, as well as the team’s official website where DraftKings will be also launching a special promotion. Live Like a King is the name for the special promotion; the operator will give away fan sweepstakes among the best supporters so they can have the opportunity to win VIP tickets. Winners will receive the team’s jersey, a pre-game bench sit, a photo right from the centre of the court, a pre-match dinner and tickets for home game with zero transportation expenses. The Minnesota Timberwolves’ partnership is the fantasy sports operator’s fourth agreement in the NBA. Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Boston Celtics are the other three DraftKings’ partners from the NBA, but the fantasy sports operator has also agreements with the NFL teams, the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots, as well as the major hockey league in the US, NHL.
Timberwolves senior vice-president and chief revenue officer, Ryan Tanke, is delighted with this new partnership: “Fantasy sports gaming is a huge and rapidly growing industry and is something that many of our fans are interested and engaged in. This partnership and industry category opens up some great new opportunities to further connect and engage with our fans”. Co-founder of DraftKings, Paul Liberman, said: “We want daily fantasy sports to engage and electrify fans, and we’re looking forward to making that happen for Timberwolves fans by providing them with unique experiences and new ways to interact with the sport”.
