Effective in August of 2022, the U.S. online sports betting market welcomed a new member. The new platform comes from sports betting operator Betr. Betr made its first entrance into the U.S. sports betting community when the operator signed a partnership deal with Hall of Fame Resorts & Entertainment Company. Now comes news that the operator will be taking sports bets in the state of Indiana.
Betr’s access to Indiana sports bettors will come by way of the company’s new deal with Caesars Southern Indiana and EBCI Holdings. EBCI stands for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians’ gaming entity. This is great news for a new sports betting operator that is trying to make an impact within a sports betting community that is filled with top-notch sports betting operators.
In a press release, Betr CEO Joey Levy stated: “We are thrilled to be working with Caesars Southern Indiana and EBCI Holdings to bring Betr to the Hoosier state. [We’ve] been focused on aligning ourselves with partners who buy into our vision and are willing to take equity in lieu of cash for access.
Has a new entrant into the U.S. sports betting community, Betr’s management knew they would have to bring something different to the table. They have successfully done that by offering what the company refers to as its “micro betting” angle. It was Caesars Southern Indiana General Manager Brad Seigal who was really impressed with this revolutionary sports betting option.
While most online sportsbooks tend to focus on offering proposition prop bets, the Betr planform focuses significantly less on prop bets while offering more in the way of live in-game microbets. Microbets take the live on-game wagering option down to a very small level.
As an example, the online bookmaker might post a line on how many yards will be picked up on the next pass during an NFL game.
The intent behind this new offering is two-fold. First, it would seem the operator is trying to offer experienced sports bettors plenty of fast sports-betting action where bets can be made every 30 seconds. Second, it would seem that Betr is trying to appeal more to novice and casual sports bettors who tend to like “novelty” betting. The company clearly hopes they are on the cutting edge of the sports betting future.
Having decided to heavily market its sports betting platform via social media, Betr has enlisted the support of pro boxer and YouTube influencer Jake Paul. Paul will become a franchisee within the Betr community. He will be heading up marketing efforts through the creation of a new podcast called “BS w/Jake Paul.”
The podcast will feature plenty of handicapping activities, plus visitors will be given access to top athlete influencers and some of Paul’s celebrity friends. According to Paul:
“Micro-betting is the TikTok-ification of sports betting and I am excited to bring it to the masses through Betr.”
